D&D London, formerly Conran Restaurants
The CONRAN brand has long been synonymous with restaurants and great eating; beautifully cooked dishes and charming ambience.

Conran Restaurants, now D&D London, began with the opening of Pont de la Tour in Butler's Wharf in 1991 and has rapidly expanded to 38 restaurants worldwide.

Each restaurant identity was developed by CONRAN. Every restaurant has its own distinctive personality while still remaining part of the same family. CONRAN continues today to develop the visual identity and branding for each of these, including the design and production of individual ashtrays for each restaurant.

Quaglino's had one of the most popular ashtray designs, so much so that an average of 50 ashtrays a week went missing over a 10 period- approx 25,000 in total.

In 2003, the restaurant held an ‘Ashtray Amnesty' during which anyone who had inadvertently allowed one of the iconic ‘Q' shaped ashtrays to slip into their pockets could return the item and receive a glass of champagne free of charge.

Restaurants in the group vary widely, from the buzz and glamour of Quaglino's to the bespoke elegance of Sartoria or the iconic location and classic interior of Skylon at the Royal Festival Hall.
